Early in October 2022 a group of Wirksworth residents measured the microwave radiation being emitted by the only cell tower in town. The readings were very high (see image below) being 30x higher than that regarded as being an extreme hazard to health.*
We since discovered that in spite of a declined financial inducement offered to sports clubs to site the tower on their playing fields over the hedgerow the planning application of 2019 was railroaded through with scant regard to local consent.
* The International Institute for Building-Biology & Ecology has found through thousands of peer reviewed scientific studies that anything greater than 1000µW/m2 of microwave radiation is extremely hazardous.
We have since measured the RF microwave radiation level of many cell towers in Derbyshire and found most to be in the extremely hazardous range.
